[VB] Gas Cap VEnting problem?

I think my cap is original - it has a VW logo on it. I just changed the gasket on it. Is there a spot I can see what an original looks like to compare? Or is there a way to test the cap to see if it is vented?

Without going through my notes - I put on a few years ago. I think these were originally cork, should I go back to the cork style.

get rid of the cheap and common cap that doesn't vent. it will crush
your tank by vacuum if you run it out a few times....

split bus tanks require a vented cap.

(I dont have a split bus tank anymore, so I can't speak to source.
but they exist - find a used or nos original cap and regasket it. if you have your old cap, swap the gasket to it.)
