Try using those high pitched air driven whistles on each side of bus 
front, here in Princeton, NJ area (deer capital) they swear by them- As 
I recall, the air cooled engine is more noticable to a deer.  Best is to 
slow down at rutting seasonm dawn, dusk and night-time.
