No, just the lower part. Gerson seems like he does quality work. Sounds like you have a bigger body work challenge than I could handle ☺

Are you cutting out the whole surround? Actually my lower windshield gasket area is one of the best parts of the car. Just the opposite of a seashore car! So, I'm gonna only cut patches. I bought one of the shrinker stretcher things some years back. I need to make or buy a floor stand. I know Gerson. I've sent him some NOS parts so he could measure/ copy them. I'm cutting corners on this 1970 Westy, because it is not a very great chassis to begin with. But I need practice, so here goes.
First, tho, the windshield posts need pulled a little. A big tree fell on it.It's a big inch to the right at the top. I've got a friend with a frame machine, but 20 miles away and this does not steer or drive. I think I can pull it in my shop. My shop has a steel frame bigger than a frame machine. I bought a pull cylinder. from harbor fright. Probably get it so good I keep it?

I’m not smart enough to know how to use a shrinker/stretcher ☺ I went ahead and got the piece from Klassicfab. They ship from Bogota, and it $300 I think and shipping was $100, but it really seems like a solid piece and it was here in two days!

what are you using for lower windshield repair metal? I bought the Just Kampers piece from Bus Depot, and it is horrible. I do have a shrinker stretcher. I guess I learn how to use it now!

Well done!

I don’t know you, but I applaud your decision to quit. That said, having quit many years ago, I can tell you that every now and then – for several years after I quit – the urge to smoke was nearly irresistible. It happened with decreasing frequency after the first month, and finally petered out after several years. It was almost like something got knocked loose in my bloodstream that triggered an alarm in my brain. Not saying any of this to be discouraging, quite the contrary! The episodic urges are of short duration and easy to get past (

For all of you on the fence - if I can do it, you can too.

I was a smoker. Balls to the wall smoker. 20+ years. It got to the point where I was waking up in the middle of the night to smoke. I tried to quit. Once. About 15 years ago. I lasted three hours.

Took me three weeks to fully quit once I started vaping. And I have less than three months under my belt. But there is no way in HELL I am going back. After week 1, I realized that cigarettes taste like ass. But I am stubborn. So two weeks and another $20 later, I know that cigarettes taste like ass.

For anyone straddling the fence, just give it a shot.
