actually the problem with the Corvair had been corrected with the model 
releeased right before the book was published. considering it takes over a 
year to put any major change into production (getting designs, prototypes, 
and parts suppliers up to speed) the book itself was self promoting and 
had little effect on already in progress safety prochedures
