[T2] Headlight problems

Yes, that's why I suggested to solder. Even though the wire maybe corroded
right through, the soldered wire will work just the same, only the strands
won't touch each other inside under the insulation. If the other end of the
wire is also soldered, even better.

I remember this discussion on the VintageBus list - may many years ago about
wire corrosion. I found it hard to believe that anything but the end/exposed
part of the wire could be corroded. Then a few years ago, I was cleaning out
part of a basement - I found a full spool of wire. Brand new. The wire had
all turned green(corroded) inside the plastic sheathing. The plastic
sheathing was partially clear - so I could see this. I know this wire was
less than ten years old. Granted the basement got pretty humid at times. But
based on that - I'd assume a lot of our wires are corroded even inside their
protective plastic coating.

Many old wires that had bad ground, also had oxidation on the wires itself.
When you cut the old connector off and look at the new wire end, you will
see it is black. Have to clean them shiny and preferably solder it. More
time, less repairs. Because, it is not enough to clean the connector and
the place it goes to and use new screw or bolt.
