[T2] 1971 bus Muffler replacement

Has anyone replaced a stock muffler on a 71 bus? I'm in the process of replacing a non stock muffler with a stock one. I have everything connected except for the gaskets that go into the heater boxes. The mustache bar gets n the way when I try to install the clamps over the wire ring. Any suggestions?

Also has anyone replaced the non retractable seat belts withe retractable ones? 
My family wants to what to get me for Christmas and seat belts are in the top of the list.
