[T2] travailing out to CA again & GPS systems

Several years ago, I received a Garmin Nuvi650 as a gift.
I did find GPS useful in '09 when I toured seven Western US
states in my VW bus (3000 miles round-trip).

In the past few months driving around Los Angeles, I have
avoided using it.  I suspect that relying on GPS has caused
some atrophy in my car orienteering 'muscles'.  Better now.
