[VB] carb rebuild SP

SP engine. I hate carb work but this one needs a rebuild. Believe it or not
after 30 years of bus ownership, I have never done it. Any obvious pointers
to be aware of before I start?

Condition: Starts immediately when first started for the day. When warm,
has to crank for 30 seconds or more before starting, then smells a bit like
gas. Flooded?
