 Hi Jdd,
3.875 R&P FF transaxle with .82 fourth, big nut RGBs, does 60 MPH @ 3,000 RPM with slightly bigger than stock rear 15" tires.

1641 SP engine with 7.1 compression has dog house with type 4 cooler that is 40% bigger than stock DH cooler. Also have 356 Porsche gen pulley with stock DH lower pulley for 2:1 ratio (stock DH is about 1.8:1 ratio), and 35 mm wide cooling fan. We do not go over 3,000 RPM except for short bursts like when going uphill and upshifting to avoid ending up in too low of RPM in the higher gear. From what we have found 1,500 - 3,000 RPM is where these ACVW engines are happiest, coolest, and best longevity. Plus we are getting 23 MPG.
If you or anyone else is interested, Pmail us and we will send our "Modified Transaxle History".
E&B

whats it in? what transaxle? i've recently had my stock transmission (1960)
rebuilt and i want to match it with a 1600 or 1641 sp?

I had a mystery small nut matched with a 1600 dp … i was pretty happy with how
it ran and speed but I was often concerned about rpm but i never did measure it.

I want to keep the governor on this sp if it even works.

So what kind of set up do you recommend for an engine … should i convert to dog
house oil cooler?
