I have one of those I put in my â65 â with the idea being, I could shut off fuel coming from the tank. I think it is a 3 position â regular, off, and reserve. I always intended to add a cable to run up to the front of my bus, but that is pretty low on my list of To Doâs. -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA â78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper From: Al Brase [mailto:alribee at gmail.com] Subject: Re: [T2] Single cab Gas Tank removal Come to think of it, I think it is 3 position. Same valve body as the hand operated one on a bug or Porsche. I'm gonna do the same to my 56 single cab, but that one has the cable operated shutoff. Further is the danger of fire. I like to do this stuff outdoors. 40 years ago my younger brother worked on a car in his attached garage, burnt up the car, the garage and the house. Nearly hurt his young wife and son. Ask: how can this go wrong? That is one reason I like to get that filter out of inside the tank. Never have to fool with that again. A good hemostat type clamp on the hose and you can easily change an under tank filter. <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source =link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=icon> Virus-free. www.avast.com<http://www.avast.com> <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source =link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=link> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> On Fri, Jan 19, 2018 at 6:10 PM, Dave Gillingham < dave at coronado-realty.com<mailto:dave at coronado-realty.com>> wrote: Be ready with a way to stop the flow of gas when you grab the fuel line. As far as painting inside that area - it is mostly in very good condition, I think. It looked like it was covered in a thick layer of grime, and dust. I'll probably just scrub it out, and maybe if I see any rust, I'll put some of that master series stuff on there. -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA â78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper -----Original Message----- From: Bob Pratt [mailto:ka1dza at verizon.net<mailto:ka1dza at verizon.net>] Subject: Re: [T2] Single cab Gas Tank removal Hey Kevin, While your at it, you might as well get the gas tank area cleaned up and painted and replace the fuel lines too!
