[T2] Powerless 1800 cc

Been there- sounds like starvation-it loses power upon demand like a
hill.  in my case, a lining someone had done to the tank peeled off and
blocked the outlet from tank to fuel filter.  Had to blow up line to get
going; starvation allowed us only to go home from Ohio to NJ at night by
taking back roads at 25 mpg and less on hills.  Fuel pump cavitation
should be audible. Drained tank, opened up gas sender to see in tank by
sending in IKEA LED light on flexible stalk and using mirror on a wire.
.  Vented tank with fresh air. The lining bits were obvious, sucked them
up via a shop vac attached to a corrugated  flex 3/4" gas line.   The
shop vac was 25 ft from the tank.  No problems since, but put a t in the
line to easily blow up the line if needed.
