[T2] Heater controls?

Hi AL,

I got all the flaps to work correctly or as originally designed. Right lever all the way down – turns on blower fan.
Left lever in the middle put some air to the back and some to the front. Left lever up top – all air to the front, left lever all the way down – full defrost mode. I think it is working correctly anyway. I got pretty warm with a ½ hour drive around town. I think I’ll be on highway for a few hours tomorrow. That will be a real test.

As far as the one-way flaps on the engine fan housing – I assume they are in the right place – I don’t know how to check these without removing heater boxes, right? I think the main problem was the heater cable to barrel nut connections. One wire was too long, so even though it looked like it was as tight as it could go – it was just barely opening the heater box flap. So I cut this wire, and attached the bolt. Fully opens now.

Other heater cable was ok.

Not sure I mentioned this – I also insulated the main big tube that runs up the center of the bus. I put some ¾” thick foam insulation. This foam got 2 coats primer, and two top coats latex paint to protect it. I’d like to find a way to insulate some of the other duct work as well. But that is a job for another day.

I do say – whenever I’m under there, I’m always wishing I had a higher room garage and a lift. Then I’d really go to town under there.

Did you get the one-way flaps on the engine fan housing and also on the booster fan? The engine fan will over run the booster fan at highway speeds, so you could just get by without it, but it is only actuated by full right setting on the temp lever.
