[T2] '76 bay misfires, sometimes stalls: why?

I'm fairly confident the '76 doesn't have a computer, does it? There ARE two little wiring harnesses attached to the engine wall above and in front of the engine (i.e. closer to the back seat than the back bumper) that according to the Bentley diagrams are responsible for fuel injection and fuel pump and one of them was LOOSE. Rob at the shop was really hoping that shoving THAT connector in properly was going to solve my problem and wouldn't life be wonderful if it was, but it wasn't that simple, alas.

best,
   LJ

My 78 had issues in the signal wire to the computer. Sometimes just shoving on the connector at the computer made it go away.
