Hi C.Dreike,
No problem.
If one has a stock 1960-63 transaxle it will do 47 MPH @ 3,000 RPM in fourth gear.  If one replaces the center section with transaxle from Beetle with .89 and same R&P will be about 5 MPH slower...

Thus the reason we went to FF transaxle with 3.875 R&P, .82 fourth gear, and can do 60 MPH @ 3,000 RPM, getting 24 MPG.  With now over 125,000 miles on the 1641 cc SP engine.
