One of the more genuine 'something for nothing' capers, attributed to
one D. Hafler, adds a 3rd speaker connected across the + *OR* the â
output terminals of your stereo.
Expounded complexly: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hafler_circuit>.
The simplest exposition is that out-of-phase material, normally largely
'wasted', is emitted by the central Hafler speaker.
That is a well-proven cheap augmentation to a stereo sound system
such as most have in their Buses.
I can add that my bus radio/cassette is stereo, but with only 1 wire
to each speaker - the other wire from each audio output is grounded as is
1 terminal of each speaker. When I slap a cheap 5" old speaker across
those two single-wire outputs, and adjust the placement of the 3rd speaker
and then the stereo balance knob, the result is 'poor man's quadriphonic',
a very worthwhile improvement in quality (& volume).
Minimalism & economy forever ð
