[T2] straightening out gates & gate latches

Hi Guys,

I'll probably be peppering you with questions as I think of them. One thing I'm thinking of doing - is taking the gates off, and trying to straighten them out. Any suggestion on that? The rear gate is the worst. When it swings down, it has such a bow in it, that it hits the engine lid and scratches the paint there.

I'm also thinking of taking the gate latches off, and stripping them- as they have many layers of paint. Where these painted originally? It seems like something that would just rub off over time. I was wondering if anyone has tried powder coating these? Or some other type of finish - or maybe just galvanizing - to get a indestructible raw finish?
