	I send earlier by GoogleMail which has not sent it to me from 
the List, so at the risk of duplication:

                     I s   i t   p o s s i b l e   t h a t   a i r  
 c a n ' t   l e a k   f a s t   e n o u g h   i n t o   t h e  
 p e t r o l   t a n k   t o   r e p l a c e   t h e   r a p i d  ;-) 
 d r a i n i n g   o f   t h e   f u e l ?    If so, that can produce 
the effects you report.  
                     T o   t e s t   t h i s   h y p o t h e s i s ,  
 y o u   c o u l d   e a s e   t h e   f i l l e r   c a p   s o  
 t h a t   i t   i s n ' t   c l a m p e d   ( b u t   i s   t i l l  
 m o o r e d ,   n o t   t o   d r o p   o f f  <:-|).  Then the 
air-bleed into the tank is guaranteed, for the test.
