Michael,
I use Caig Laboratories DeoxIT D100S-2 100% solution.

Order direct or there should be a distributor near you.
Many of the connectors on cars are steel with a coating of other metal
to make them look nice. Once the rust breaks through the other metal,
not much is going to bring it back to "new looking". Best to cut them
off and replace them. Get a box of correct sized connectors made by a
name manufacturer from Digi-Key or Newark e.g., and change as needed.
Crimp is good. Do not use the connectors with glue heat shrink already
installed from Anchor. A good crimp tears the heat shrink and defeats
it's purpose. Buy bare connectors. crimp, then put your own shrink on
and keep the insulation intact. By all means use the glue shrink over
soldered, or crimped, wiring *_joints_*. IMHO it is somewhat pointless
when used on a spade connector (often called a "quick disconnect").
Moisture is going to get inside the spade connector anyway. Using
dielectric grease inside the connector helps slow that process.
Available at any FLAPS.
An acquaintance rebuilt a Ferrari Daytona during the '70's. Took
*_every_* fastener and electrical terminal off, stripped and re-plated
them all. Most often with cadmium as the finish metal; that was correct
for that vehicle. Had the tanks in his garage under his house,
alongside the car. Later died of cancer. Could have been related. IIRC
he wire-wheeled the fasteners to clean them (lots of metal/oxide dust)
and PPE was primitive/non-existant in those days. Cadmium is wicked
toxic. Car did look spectacular though.
More than you wanted to know.

Any suggestions on a good cleaner for electrical connections. Bus has been
sitting outside for 16 years. Tried CRC QD Electronic cleaner. Doesn't
seem to touch the oxidation. I can clean the male spade terminals with
sandpaper, but can't do much with the female terminals and hate to cut them
off and use standard crimp fittings.
