[T2] auxiliary air regulator question

That sounds about right. Presumably, it might open up a bit more when
really cold (stick in the freezer for 10 minutes), but it should be
closed when warm to the touch. You can loosen the adjustment nut,
adjust the opening, then retighten the nut. Also the mechanism tends
to gum up. Flushing it out with gasoline once a year can help.

Hi guys ,

I have a question about the auxiliary air regulator on a Vanagon 1983
Bentley manual said that it must be open when temp is cold. How open is open ???
I went to see Bruce Tassi (CA/Colma) and inspect dozen of used ones,
the maximum opening was 25%.
Are those thing need to be 100% open at cold temp ? I have some hard
time to think that all of them was screwed up.

Did anyone did a DIY rebuild BTW?

Thanks

Chris
