I would avoid the MD side at a minumum as far as the beltway better Waldorf or even Annapolis. it is beautiful at night, but campgrounds are few and far between, Brunswick is about as close on the Western side, can't think of anyplace worth stopping at before at least Waldorf, better onto the Eastern Shore. place or two on Kent Island. my suggestion is still Rt 50 Winchester, Rt 7 Rt 340 enjoy Brunswick, take train into DC. then onto Baltimore Via I-70 then South onto Rt 3 Rt 301 and either East onto 50 to Eastern Shore or South on 301 to Virginia. I used to run down and see Dolan, or go to friends down on the eastern shore, and I loved driving through on 66 or 50 in the early AM hours, doesn't even have to be Sunday, or didn't used to have to be... Problem is where are you thinking about stopping if you pass through at 3AM. > > John > > -------------------------------------------- > On Tue, 10/22/13, accessys at smart.net <accessys at smart.net> wrote: > > I still HIGHLY recommend avoiding rt 50 inside the > washington Beltway. > find another route or do it at 3AM on a Sunday morning. > >
