some time ago I put fuel shut off petcocks in both of my fuel lines
(FI) and just turn em whenever I need to work on fuel line or take out
engine etc.. I have pulled an engine with an almost full tank of gas and
barely lost a drop.
they also make good thief prevention when at long term parking lots like
the airport.
