Contact cement didn't hold, so I used a zip tie.
(I MacGuyver'd this from scraps in my garage.)

Exactly. The two foam pipe insulations are
parallel. Glue line is where they touch.

I used foam for 1/2" dia water pipes. Mine's
about 8" long to fill in a large gap of my OEM
type foam seal.
