ANSI Bulb Specifications

The "upgrades" column is meant to show slightly brighter or more readily available bulbs that can be used as replacements. Don't exceed original ratings by too much, though, or you can melt lenses and sockets - this is especially important for bulbs that operate for long periods of time, like the running lights. Using brighter-than-stock bulbs in the turn signals can also damage turn signal and hazard flashers. If you're unsure, stay with the stock part.

One good way to improve output, espcially for headlights, is to buy halogen versions of the stock part; these usually have an "H" prepended to the part number. Do NOT buy "super white", "blue", or "ion blue" headlights. They actually have less light output than normal headlights, no matter what the hype says.
