Originally, there was only the Vanagon list. The Type2 list grew out of the Vanagon list, and then the VintageBus list grew out of Type2.

The result is that all three archives contain information on split-window (1949-1967) Buses. Both the Type2 and Vanagon archives contain information on bay-window (1968-1979) Buses.
